I lived with Ulcerative Colitis for many years. In the end my ulcerative colitis treatment didn’t help and my disease got worse. After risk factors for colon cancer started to change I had to have surgery.
16 years after my surgery for a J-Pouch I am married with children. Unfortunately my eldest daughter has been diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. She very quickly had a major flare which resulted in her admission into hospital.
As a result, I got to witness what ulcerative colitis treatment looks like 16 years after I put that disease behind me. I saw treatment I had, plus new treatment that wasn’t available to me 16 years ago.
